TMG Health/ Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (AZ Blue)/Progress MOVEit Data Breach Investigation

TMG Health, a vendor of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (AZ Blue), utilized a file transfer software produced by Progress Software. The software, known as MOVEit, had a vulnerability that was discovered on May 29, 2023. On or about June 21, 2023, TMG Health determined the MOVEit vulnerability had compromised its clients’ personal information. As a client of TMG Health, AZ Blue members’ names, member IDs, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, Social Security Numbers, and/or banking information was compromised. AZ Blue posted a notification about the breach of information on its website on August 17, 2023, and it’s believed letters were sent to compromised AZ Blue members around the same time.
