Flagstar Bank / Progress Software / Fiserv Data Breach Investigation

A vendor of Flagstar Bank, Fiserv, was utilizing MOVEit Transfer when a vulnerability was discovered in the file transfer program. MOVEit Transfer, the file transfer program, is produced by Progress Software, and the vulnerability resulted in the exposure of 837,390 Flagstar Bank customers’ personal information. The personal information included customers’ Social Security numbers. Although the vulnerability was discovered in May, Fiserv did not notify Flagstar until approximately 8/8/2023 and Flagstar did not issue notification letters to Flagstar Bank customers until October 6, 2023.
