Prospect Medical Holdings Data Breach Investigation

Prospect Medical Holdings is a multistate 16-hospital chain that experienced a data breach by an unauthorized third party between July 31, 2023, and August 3, 2023. The third party gained access to personal information of 190,492 Prospect Medical employees and dependents. The personal information included names and social security numbers. Though Prospect Medical Holdings became aware of the breach on August 1, 2023, notification letters were not sent to compromised individuals until September 29, 2023.
