Delaware Life Insurance Co./Pension Benefit Information (“PBI”)/Progress MOVEit Data Breach Investigation

Pension Benefit Information’s use of the Progress MOVEit file transfer tool resulted in a breach affecting Delaware Life Insurance Company customers. There was a vulnerability in the file transfer tool that resulted in millions of individuals’ personal information (“PI”) being compromised, and Delaware Life Insurance customers are part of that set. The PI includes customers’ social security numbers. Though the breach was discovered on June 6, 2023, PBI did not begin issuing breach notification letters to affected Delaware Life Insurance Co. policyholders until September 6, 2023.
